Especially interesting for any of you who have read Tweak or Beautiful Boy, CNN has posted a new letter from author / addict Nic Sheff. This guy is f—-ed up, and like many addicts he’s selfish and self-absorbed, but you want to root for him anyways because he’s smart, because if he could just get his sh— together than maybe there would be hope for someone else in this world, hope for anybody. And he’s a pretty decent writer.

“[The BU Hockey National Championship is] a totally different feeling than the Sox or Celtics or Pats winning. I love BU and I have so much school pride. Steve laughed when I said this, but the victory itself and the way it happened is probably behind 04 Sox and the first Pats SB title. I might rank this ahead of the Celts last year.”
“I’ve been waiting so long for [the Celtics to win the NBA Championships]. [T]here is no way to rank this against the Sox and Pats. [T]he Sox in 04 was the first championship in 86 years and the Pats beating the Rams was the biggest upset in Superbowl history (at the time… sigh) [, but] basketball is my life and my love. I’m around it almost every day and the Celtics [] have been closest to my heart no matter how bad they’ve been.”
